Job Details:

* Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
* 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week block
* Typically 2 of 5 holidays required (including holiday eves)
* Modified self-scheduling with varied shift start times: 7, 10, 11, 12, 1, and 3
* No 48-hour guarantees
* No blocked scheduling requests
* No more than 5 days of requested time off
* Must have at least 2 years of ER experience with Trauma Level I and II cumulative experience in the past 2 years
* 100-mile radius rule applies
* Patient ratios: 1:5 medical, 1:6 for fast track
* Level 3 trauma center operated like a Level 1, STEMI and stroke receiving facility
* 52-bed department with 4 trauma bays averaging 200 patients per day
* 6 fast track beds and 2 quick look triage areas using ESI system
* RN must read own telemetry; monitor techs also available
* Shared scheduling with Foothills freestanding ER, located a 15-minute drive away
* Common drips include ICU drips for hold patients with ICU support available
* Dedicated CT and X-ray in the ER with a transport team available; RN will accompany critical patients
* Respiratory therapy assigned 24/7 for ABGs, nebulizer treatments, ventilator management, and CPAP
* RT equipment includes Glidescope, Hamilton, and Phillips ventilators
* No phlebotomy on staff; ED techs or RNs perform lab draws
* Security housed in the ER 24/7
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Charting system: Epic EMR proficiency required, used within the last 5 years
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS; TNCC preferred

This acute care facility operates a high-volume emergency department functioning at an elevated standard of care, treating all emergency needs across a wide patient population. The department is equipped with dedicated CT and X-ray imaging, multiple trauma bays, fast track capabilities, and around-the-clock respiratory therapy and security support. The facility operates as a STEMI and stroke receiving center and maintains a collaborative care model with a nearby freestanding emergency department.
