Opportunity:

Trauma ICU

Job Details:

* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Weekend shifts required
* No on-call required
* Guaranteed 36 hours per week; facility may cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week assignment
* Travelers will be floated based on need; ICU Float RNs may be floated to any ICU/TELE units
* Block scheduling is not available
* Up to 2 days of RTO permitted; 1 holiday may be approved off
* Three missed shifts may result in cancellation of assignment
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC
* Required skills: Care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, ICP monitoring, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, Level 1 and Level 2 trauma experience
* Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Patient diagnoses include trauma-surgical, neurosurgical, TBI, EVDs, orthopedic traction, massive transfusions, complex wound care, wound vacs, and CRRT
* Charting system: Cerner
* Scrub color: No specific color required; camouflage and character patterns are not permitted
* Strict dress code enforced: no facial hair, no acrylic nails, no unnatural hair colors, all tattoos must be covered, no visible body piercings other than earrings, no facial or nose rings, and earrings may not extend beyond the earlobe or be hoop earrings
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
* Parking is free

Facility:

This is an acute care hospital recognized as a Magnet facility and a Level II Trauma Center with teaching hospital status. With 412 total staffed beds, the facility offers a comprehensive range of services and robust interdisciplinary support across its units. The Trauma ICU operates with 12 rooms and a daily census of approximately 9 patients, providing high-acuity care for complex trauma and surgical cases.
