Opportunity:

RN - Triage Cardiology

Job Details:

* 33-week contract position
* Schedule: 5x8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
* No weekend or on-call requirements
* Minimum 1 year of experience working as an RN in an outpatient cardiology clinic and triage setting required
* Previous charge experience required
* Epic charting experience required
* Active RN license required; compact license must be in hand at submission
* Required certification: BLS
* Any color scrubs permitted
* Triage patient calls and messages using clinic protocols and provider direction
* Assess and care for cardiology patients preparing for or recovering from procedures such as cardiac catheterization, PCI/stent placement, EP procedures, structural heart procedures, cardioversions, or vascular/interventional studies
* Perform medication reconciliation and reinforce medication instructions ordered by providers
* Obtain and interpret 12-lead EKG/ECG and vital signs
* Perform arrhythmia interpretation and respond to cardiac arrest/CPR situations
* Assess symptoms and determine appropriate escalation, including urgent escalation for chest pain, new or worsening shortness of breath, syncope, stroke-like symptoms, uncontrolled bleeding, unstable vitals, or vascular access complications
* Conduct pain assessments and complete patient health questionnaires, history, and allergy documentation
* Administer oxygen as needed and monitor for altered level of consciousness
* Provide patient education around lifestyle and medication adherence
* Conduct follow-up phone calls and support quality improvement initiatives
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
* Interpretation services available as interdisciplinary support

This Heart & Vascular Clinic provides specialized outpatient cardiology care in an ambulatory clinic setting.
