Opportunity:
RN - Bone Marrow Transplant
Job Details:
* Bone marrow transplant experience required; experience administering cells preferred
* Adult outpatient program within a children's hospital setting
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Patient ratio of 1:2
* Every other weekend required
* Call required
* Required certifications: BLS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC); OCN preferred
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Performs cell and gene therapy administration
* Administers blood products and chemotherapy and conditioning treatments
* Provides supportive care administration and triage
* Proficient with accessing and managing ports, central line care, PICC line care, and central line blood draws
* Experience with infusion pump management, IV push chemotherapy administration, and intravenous hydration
* Skilled in management and disposal of cytotoxic spills and body fluid handling post-chemotherapy
* Experience with stem cell therapies, CAR-T, and BMT required
* Provides patient and family education and support
* Monitors for and manages chemotherapy side effects, extravasation injury, anaphylaxis, and sepsis
* Must have Michigan license in-hand at time of submission (non-compact)
* 2 manager or supervisor references required
* No RTO permitted during the first week of contract
Facility:
This healthcare facility houses an adult outpatient oncology program within a children's hospital setting, offering a unique and specialized care environment. The unit supports a daily census of approximately 14 patients and approximately 13 visits per day, focusing on hematologic malignancies. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and more, ensuring comprehensive patient care across all levels of need.
