CVICU Nights

Job Details:

* Night shift position in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
* Every other weekend required
* Patient ratio of 1:2 for nights and weekends
* Unit welcomes first-time travelers
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
* Scrub color: Navy
* May float to MSICU, Neuro ICU, or Burn ICU as needed
* Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Unit consists of a mix of cardiac surgical and cardiac medical patients with occasional adult medical ICU overflow
* 24-bed unit with a daily census of 20
* Required skills include: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, CVVHD/CRRT, Impella, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and more
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy

This facility operates a robust Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit supported by a multidisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy. The unit maintains a 24-bed capacity and provides comprehensive care for cardiac surgical and medical patients as well as adult medical ICU overflow. The facility fosters a welcoming environment for traveling nurses and supports staff with strong interdisciplinary resources.
