Opportunity:
CVICU / Registered Nurse
Job Details:
* Patient ratio of 1:1-2; ratios may vary if floated
* Every other weekend and applicable holidays required
* Floating required to all ICUs, PACU, ED for ICU holding patients, and all IMC units
* Care for adult and geriatric patients including fresh hearts, ventilated patients, chest tubes, lumbar drains, and chronic and acute renal failure
* Must have experience with Post Op Open Heart Recovery, Swan, FloTrac, Temporary Pacers, Arterial Lines, and Chest Tubes
* Must have experience with devices such as Impella, IABP, and CRRT using Prismax OR experience with fresh heart cases
* CVICU experience with fresh open hearts such as CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR required; SICU experience with initial training in a CVICU may be considered
* Required skills include arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, continuous IV paralytics, continuous IV sedation, CVVHD/CRRT, FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring, high flow nasal cannula, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, Impella, IABP, IV insulin protocols, lumbar drains, management of dysrhythmias, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, ventilator management, and ventricular assist devices
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Previous charge experience preferred
* 2 years of current CVICU experience required
* Active NJ or Compact license required
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and Stroke CEUs
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary

This facility features a specialized cardiovascular intensive care unit equipped to handle complex cardiac cases including fresh post-operative open heart surgeries and critically ill patients requiring advanced monitoring and support. The unit is supported by a full interdisciplinary team and offers access to specialty services including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The organization maintains high clinical standards and provides a dynamic environment for experienced critical care nurses.
