PCT - PCU

Job Details:

* Work in a 36-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) department
* Schedule is made 4 weeks in advance
* Minimum every other weekend required
* May be asked to participate in Holiday Rotation
* No on-call or standby requirements
* Perform vitals, AM/PM care, restocking, running errands, EKGs, outputs, bladder scanning, and blood glucose monitoring
* Work alongside PCTs with typical staffing of 5 nurse aides per shift
* Utilize centralized telemetry monitoring system available 24/7
* Must be able to read and interpret telemetry appropriately and communicate changes with physician for appropriate intervention
* Common diagnoses include post-ICU, post-shock, post-stroke, pneumonia, CHF, post cardiac arrest, non-DKA, respiratory failure, and infectious disease cases
* Cancellation policy allows up to 3 shifts per 13-week contract
* Charting system: Allscripts
* Scrub color: Maroon Red
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA), Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) via NHA
* BSN not required
* Valid state nursing license required for submission
