RN - ER

Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts with possible start times of 7:00 AM (Days), 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, or 3:00 PM (Mids/Eves), or 7:00 PM (Nights)
* Every other weekend rotation required
* Holiday expectations of every other or 50%
* 6-week scheduling cycles
* RTO approved up to 5 days
* No floating required
* Patient ratio of 1:4; fast track ratio of 1:6 (team nurse: RN, NP)
* Treat diverse patient population including neonates, geriatrics, 25% pediatrics, walk-in traumas, and patients with cardiac, neuro, GI, respiratory, and psych conditions
* Manage ventilators and BiPAP in absence of respiratory therapy on-site
* Mix own medications under pharmacy supervision via video conference
* Strong IV skills required including chest tubes and central lines
* May be requested to serve as charge nurse (facility will train if needed)
* Majority of blood draws performed by RN
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, Advanced NRP, NIHSS, TNCC
* Minimum 2 full years of ER experience required (any trauma level)
* First-time travelers accepted
* Charting system: EPIC; Equipment: Alaris, Pyxis
* Traveler Telemetry Competency must be completed and passed prior to start
* Orientation includes 1 hospital orientation day, 8-hour respiratory class, and 1 full day on the unit
* Scrub color: Any color
* Free parking available

This brand-new, off-campus emergency department operates 24/7 and features 8 to 10 beds, providing comprehensive emergency care services to the surrounding community. The facility serves a wide range of patient types and is supported by charge nurses, ED physicians, ER technicians, and front desk staff. The department utilizes modern charting and medication management systems to ensure high-quality patient care in a small acute care setting.
