Opportunity:

RN - IMCU

Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
* Every other weekend requirement with 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule (Days: Saturday/Sunday, Nights: Friday/Saturday)
* First to float with floating requirements to 4 West or Med/Surg departments
* No on-call or standby requirement
* True Telemetry unit (IMCU - 2 West) with 38 beds
* Patient ratios of 1:3-4 with 2-3 unit aides available
* Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, renal failure, respiratory failure, alcohol withdrawal, and post PCI patients
* EMR system: Cerner
* Required to read and interpret telemetry strips using GE Apex Telemetry boxes with central telemetry monitoring
* Must pass proctored Dysrhythmia Test on-site on day one (pass/fail)
* RT equipment includes BiPAP, CPAP, and HFNC - no ventilators
* Common drips include DKA, Heparin, Amiodarone, and Cardizem - all set rates or protocol driven, no titration required
* Self-scheduling by seniority with schedules made approximately 3 weeks in advance, shift trades available
* 1 shift of unit/department-specific orientation
* Scrub color: Navy
* Must have 2-3 years of experience in specialty - open to first-time travelers
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Must be self-motivated, team oriented, and invested in patient experience, HCAHPS, and core measures

This acute care facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center offering a wide range of medical services across multiple specialized units. The facility operates a busy Intermediate Care Unit that consistently runs at full capacity, emphasizing bedside shift reports, patient experience, and core measures. The organization maintains a traveler-friendly environment with strong team leadership support, including a Nurse Shift Manager and dedicated Resource/Break RNs who do not take patient assignments.
