RN - Med/Surg Tele

Job Details:

* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Experience with ventilated patients and tracheostomy management is a hard requirement
* Patient ratio of 1:4 on days, nights, and weekends
* Every other weekend required
* No on-call required
* May be required to float to Med-Surg unit
* May be required to float to a sister Providence facility
* Open to first-time travelers
* Block scheduling available at manager's discretion
* Facility may call off once per two-week pay period
* Scrub color: Any color
* Charting system: Meditech / Epic experience required
* Free parking available
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH/NIHSS, CPI
* Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, tracheostomy care/management, central line care/management, cardiac telemetry, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, chest tube management, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), blood product administration, PICC line management, accessing/managing ports, PCA, wound care/wound vac, surgical drains, feeding tube care and management, pre/post hemodialysis management, and isolation precautions/PPE
* Special equipment includes: Safe Patient Handling devices (Arjo Sara Stedy, Sara Flex, Encore, Tenor, HoverMatt, HoverJack), Roche Accucheck Glucometers, and VeinFinder
* Patients treated include adults and geriatrics
* Common patient diagnoses include neuro (CVA, TIA, seizure), cardiac (chest pain, non-STEMI, AFib, CHF), respiratory (pneumonia, COPD, TB), GI/GU/endocrine conditions, skin conditions, and surgical cases
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
* All RTO requests must be submitted at time of candidate submission
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day

Facility:

This acute care hospital operates with 189 staffed beds and 37 beds within the unit, maintaining a daily census of approximately 29 patients. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support services including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, and rapid response teams. The organization is part of a larger health system with multiple facilities in the region.
