Opportunity:

RN - Labor and Delivery

Job Details:

* 4 x 12-hour shifts per week for a total of 48 hours per week
* Shift times: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM (days) or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (nights)
* Overtime will not be billed until after 48 hours worked in a week
* Every other weekend rotation required, but may be variable based on need
* Holiday rotation required on a fair and equitable basis
* No mandatory on-call requirements
* Schedule is made in 6-week increments and released 2 weeks prior to the start of the schedule
* Cannot guarantee a block schedule - will be utilized to fill in gaps in the schedule
* Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required; 5+ years preferred
* Must be proficient and comfortable circulating and being primary in the OR for C-sections
* Must be comfortable with Postpartum and Antepartum assignments
* EPIC EMR experience required
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP, Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (AWHONN)
* High acuity experience required including labor management and delivery of high-risk OB patients, ability to triage OB patients, circulate in OR, cervical checks, and reading/interpreting fetal monitoring strips
* Must be able to serve as a second set of hands to receive and recover normal newborns as needed
* Will float to antepartum (within L&D) and postpartum (4th floor) occasionally, and additional assignments within scope and experience
* Equipment used includes: EPIC EMR, Alaris CareFusion IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Centricity/Qx fetal surveillance monitors, CAD Solaris epidural pumps, Panda Warmers, and Covidien SCDs
* Scrubs are provided by the facility and are not to be worn outside of the facility
* Free badge access parking available in designated areas

Facility:

This facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Level IV NICU located in Tacoma, WA. The Labor and Delivery unit features 34 beds including 15 labor rooms, 12 antepartum beds, 4 OB ED beds, and 3 operating rooms, along with an 18-bed postpartum unit. The facility handles up to 300 deliveries per month with a 33% C-section rate and provides 24/7 laborist coverage, RT support, and anesthesia services. The unit follows AWHONN patient ratio guidelines and is supported by CNAs, scrub techs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, and resource RNs.
