Opportunity:

RN - Family Birthing Center

Job Details:

* 24 guaranteed hours per shift with 2 shifts typically grouped per week
* Weekends and holidays are required based on holiday schedule and time-off requests
* Floating is required, including to telemetry and ER for sitters and confused patients
* When floating to Med Surg, assist with tasks such as taking trays to rooms - no patient load assumed in other departments
* Minimum of two years of nursing experience required
* Associate's Degree (ADN) or higher from an accredited nursing program required
* Active Colorado Registered Nurse license required
* Required certifications: BLS and NRP
* PALS preferred
* Independently assess and evaluate the health status of labor and neonate patients
* Directly provide patient care and monitor patient response during labor, delivery, and postpartum phases
* Assist and educate patients in breastfeeding as needed
* Provide education to mothers regarding infant care and promote wellness during and after pregnancy
* Document all events and education in the patient medical record using computers
* Communicate patient conditions verbally and in writing to physicians and nursing supervisors
* Collaborate with nursery nurse in care of mother/baby couplet
* Assist physicians with procedures and support staff during emergencies in other nursing units when possible
* Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
