Job Details:

* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* At least 1 year of NICU experience required
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Self-scheduling environment
* Patient ratios of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* Weekend coverage required; must meet departmental needs per union contract
* Float to postpartum unit may be required
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* Care for neonatal patients 32 weeks gestation and above in a Level II NICU setting
* Stabilize infants for transfer to higher level of care when needed
* Daily census of approximately 4 patients across 5 beds
* Required skills: Attend high-risk deliveries, breastfeeding support and handling of breast milk, care for neonates greater than 34 weeks and neonates 29-34 weeks, NICU II, UAC (Umbilical Artery Catheter), UVC (Umbilical Vein Catheter), ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), eat/sleep/console
* Special procedures include managing CPAP and UAC/UVC lines
* Special equipment includes High Flow and CPAP
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Up to one pre-approved time off request allowed
* 2 professional references required, covering 1 year within the last 3 years

This facility operates a Level II NICU focused on the care of neonatal patients 32 weeks gestation and above, with capabilities to stabilize infants requiring transfer to a higher level of care. The unit is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, physical therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and social services, ensuring comprehensive care for its neonatal patient population. The facility maintains a low patient-to-nurse ratio of 2:1 to prioritize patient safety and quality care.
