RRT - Respiratory Therapist

Job Details:

* Ohio RRT license required in hand at time of submission
* Must obtain NRP prior to start date
* High risk delivery experience preferred; candidates without experience must be open to on-site high risk training
* Floating required as needed within the Metro Region between Toledo, Flower, and Bay Park Hospitals, including mid-shift floating to ensure all guaranteed hours are worked
* Must be comfortable with patients of all ages including pediatrics and neonates; specific pediatric hospital experience not required
* Assists in pediatrics and with Pediatric ER patients
* Must be comfortable with basic pediatric respiratory therapy care
* Treats and educates all patient populations with diagnoses including asthma, COPD, emphysema, pneumonia, and non-pulmonary diagnoses
* Performs general and critical care including medication delivery, bronchopulmonary hygiene, hyperinflation therapy, initiation, management, and weaning of invasive and non-invasive ventilation
* Performs airway management and suction, cuff and ETCO2 monitoring, intubation assist, extubation, and maintenance of indwelling lines
* Responds to rapid responses and emergency codes and performs CPR
* Performs blood gas sampling and analysis, specimen collection, and spontaneous breathing parameters
* Invasive line and arterial line tubing and bag changes are RRT's responsibility on Toledo and Bay Park campuses
* Work setting experience required: Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department
* Airway management devices required: endotracheal tube/suctioning, extubation, nasal airway placement, nasal airway suctioning, oral airway placement, oropharyngeal suctioning, pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy/suctioning
* Care of patient with bronchoscopy required
* Medication administration required: Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, inhaled steroids, Perforomist, Pulmicort, racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, and Xopenex
* Medication delivery systems required: aerosol set up mask, aerosol set up trach, medihaler, and metered dose inhaler
* Nebulizer experience required: hand held, T-piece, and trach collar
* Oxygen therapy required: high flow nasal cannula and trach collar
* Ventilator management required: BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
* Neonatal/Pediatric procedure required: assist in high risk delivery
* ABG interpretation required
* Epic charting experience required
* Equipment experience required: Servo I, Avea, Bella Vista
* Required certifications and licenses: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Ohio RRT license
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Scrub color: Grey
* No local travelers within 50 miles
