Job Details:

* 48 hours guaranteed per week
* Patient ratios of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* 4-5 weekend shifts per 6 weeks
* For 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM shifts, Friday and Saturday are counted as weekends
* For 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM shifts, Saturday and Sunday are counted as weekends
* 40 orientation hours required
* Minimum 2 years of experience in an ER setting required
* Travel experience preferred but not required (first-time travelers with Level 1 ER experience will be considered)
* No Trauma Level 1 experience necessary
* Trauma Level 1 experience preferred
* Patient age groups include adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
* Candidates may float within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital nearby
* Requested time off longer than 1 week not approved unless special circumstance
* Local travelers within 100 miles are not accepted
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC
* Required skills: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Triage, Care of Ventilated Patient, Continuous IV sedation
* Compliance exams required: Advanced Math exam, Med/Pharmacology exam, EKG Onboarding exam, ED Competency exam, ED skills, CORE exams
* Kentucky or compact nursing license required
* At least 1 reference required at time of submission
* Pre-approved time off must be presented at time of submission

Facility:

This large healthcare facility operates a high-volume emergency department with 84 rooms, 100 beds, and an average daily census of 90 patients with approximately 250 visits per day. The facility offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretarial support. The emergency department is a well-resourced environment equipped to handle a wide range of patient populations and acuity levels.
