Job Details:

* Night shift position with every other weekend requirement
* 48-hour guaranteed hours per week
* First to float when needed
* Float pool position rotating between Med/Onc, 2 surgical units, and 2 medical units
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 with total care responsibilities - no PCAs
* 128-bed unit within a Level 2 Trauma acute care setting
* Common patient diagnoses include surgical services such as colorectal, hepatobiliary, bariatric, general, and orthopedic cases, as well as medical conditions including diabetes, heart disease, COPD, kidney, and GI conditions
* No titration of drips required
* No telemetry monitoring required - occasional strip reading only with remote tele monitoring available
* Charge nurse present on each shift and takes a patient assignment
* Nurse aides and patient care techs available with varying ratios
* Respiratory therapy readily available to assist; nasal cannula used on floors
* Staff assigned to units based on need - no self-scheduling
* No holiday requirement and no on-call or standby requirement
* Floating required to any Med/Surg pod
* Navy scrubs required - not provided by facility
* 3 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation provided
* Charting system: Cerner
* Large hospital experience required
* No first-time travelers
* Required certification: BLS (AHA or ARC)
