Opportunity:

RN - NICU

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts starting at 7:00 AM/PM in a Level III NICU with 26 beds
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1 depending on patient acuity
* Every other weekend required, including both Saturday and Sunday
* Holiday requirements include 1 major and 1 minor holiday
* No on-call or standby requirement
* Self-scheduling by seniority with manager balancing the schedule
* Minimum 3 years of NICU experience required, specifically in a Level III NICU
* Must have experience titrating drips including dopamine, dobutamine, versed, and fentanyl
* Common patient diagnoses include premature infants, sepsis, surgical cases such as gastroschisis, and EVAs
* Experience working with nasal CPAP, rare oscillators, and ventilated patients required
* NICU RNs attend high-risk deliveries in Labor and Delivery
* RNs are responsible for reading and monitoring telemetry strips in an open bay area
* First to float to the Nursery and Pediatrics (sister unit); Pediatrics consists of 12 low-acuity beds with patients typically presenting with RSV, pneumonia, etc.
* Orientation includes 3 shifts on the unit with a preceptor, 6 hours in the Nursery, and 6 hours in Pediatrics
* Charting system: Cerner
* BSN not required
* Dress code: Navy scrubs
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), PALS, LA City Fire & Safety
