Opportunity:

RN - Med/Surg Neuro

Job Details:

* Work three 12-hour shifts per week
* Two weekends (4 shifts) required per 4-week schedule
* Patient ratio of 6:1 on a 20-bed Neuro Med/Surg unit
* Tech support available on both day and night shifts
* Unit secretary available from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
* Document patient care using Meditech documentation system
* Operate equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, and iMobile communication technology
* Med/Surg experience required with ability to prioritize care and multitask
* Must be proficient in starting IVs, basic wound care, and maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
* Provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members
* Conduct bedside shift report and include patients and family members in their plan of care
* Contract labor is first to float with rotation among multiple contract staff when scheduled
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
* Required uniform: Navy scrubs, tops and bottoms
