ICU RN
Job Details:
* 13-week assignment with 3x12 variable shifts
* Weekend coverage required as needed to cover open shifts
* No on-call responsibilities
* Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* May float to like units to meet facility needs
* Block scheduling is not available
* Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
* Travel experience required
* Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required; at least 1 year required
* First-time travelers not accepted
* Self-scheduling available
* 12 orientation hours provided
* Charting system: Epic (experience required)
* Scrubs provided by facility
* Parking is free
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
* Alaska RN license must be in hand for auto offer
* Required skills include: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patient, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, PICC line management, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, ventilator management, and more
* Special equipment used includes: IABP, CRRT, Impella, Tandem Heart, Belmont, Camino, and CoolGuard
* Patient diagnoses include: medical and surgical cardiac, open heart recovery, neuro intervention, stroke, sepsis, respiratory failure, trauma, spinal cord injury, and targeted temperature management
* Patients served include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Unit has 27 beds with a daily census of 21
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and more
* All requested time off must be submitted at the time of submittal
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
