Job Details:

* Night shift position on a 32-bed Medical/Surgical unit
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 with nurse aide support at 1:5 ratio
* 6-9 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
* Holiday requirement applies
* Self-scheduling and block scheduling available
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
* First to float; in extreme need, may float within Zone 4 as determined by Nurse Manager
* Charting system: EPIC
* BSN not required
* Must be in state for the full week of orientation, even if first-day modules are remote
* Must live within 60 miles of facility; driver's license must be submitted
* Common diagnoses include congestive heart failure, hypertension, chest pain work-ups, COPD exacerbations, asthma, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure
* RNs required to titrate drips including analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives
* RNs required to read their own telemetry strips; no monitor techs on unit
* Respiratory therapy equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, high flow, and ventilators
* NIHSS experience required
* Charge nurse takes an assignment
* Call or standby requirement determined by Nurse Manager
* Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA)
* Trauma Level 3, Acute Care setting
