Opportunity:

RN - PACU

Job Details:

* Work 10-hour and 8-hour shifts between the hours of 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM
* Acute care setting with floor-specific orientation provided with a preceptor
* Patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 during transition phases
* Care for all post-operative patients who have received general anesthesia, including orthopedic, gynecological, urology, ENT, general surgery, and cath lab patients
* Critical care patients are recovered directly in the ICU
* Ventilator use is rare and typically only in emergent situations
* Charting system: Cerner - familiarity strongly preferred
* Telemetry: Philips
* Rotating charge nurse who will also take patients
* Floating to ACU or prep area possible if skill set allows, but not required
* Weekend call and holiday call of 24 hours are not required
* Scrubs provided by the facility
* Minimum 3 years of experience required; critical care background preferred
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, Crisis Protocol Approved

This acute care facility operates a comprehensive post-anesthesia care unit with two separate areas, including a main OR unit and a pavilion, supporting a wide range of surgical specialties. The facility provides around-the-clock anesthesia coverage, 24/7 respiratory therapy, and in-house pharmacy services, ensuring a well-supported clinical environment. Hospitalist and intensivist coverage is available on-call after hours, providing additional support for complex patient needs.
