Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

* Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Patient population includes adolescents through geriatrics
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
* Neuro/Stroke PCU floor with respiratory, cardiac, and mixed medical patient assignments
* Titrating cardiac drips required with continuous telemetry monitoring
* Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4 with 36 beds and an average daily census of 30
* Unit systems include Epic (preferred), Pyxis, and SBAR
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* No block scheduling
* Every other weekend required
* Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
* No on-call requirements
* Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract
* RTO blackout dates: Spring Break (April 4th?12th)
* No RTO requests can be made during orientation week (Monday?Sunday)
* Holiday coverage required: if one or two major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work both; if three major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work two
* Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, CVA management, heparin protocols, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, titrating cardiac and insulin drips, tracheostomy care, traumatic brain injury care, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, rapid response teams, and transportation
