Opportunity:
RN - Post Partum
Job Details:
* Work in a 26-bed Post Partum unit caring for women of childbearing age and newborns
* Patient ratio of 6-8 patients per nurse
* Variable scheduling with typically 2 hard-to-staff shifts (Monday/Friday) and 1 full weekend requirement every 3rd week plus 1 additional weekend
* No on-call requirements
* Floating policy within women's services unless cross-trained to pediatrics and/or NICU
* Care for post-partum patients, LDRP, well baby nursery, recoveries, and attending births for baby
* Perform circumcisions on unit
* Utilize equipment including vitals machine, glucometer, computer, TCB, and post-partum supplies
* Document using CPN and Meditech systems
* Ability to recognize unit workflow, processes, policies, and procedures within post-partum unit
* Ability to assess and identify risk factors related to sepsis, venous thromboembolism/deep vein thrombosis (VTE/DVT), suicide, malignant hyperthermia, and pressure injury
* Provide discharge education and assessment, abnormal assessment, pain management, time management, and prioritization of patient care needs
* Use of AIDET and BSSR required
* Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required, BSN preferred
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Dress code: Black scrub pants and Caribbean blue scrub top, vest, or jacket
