Opportunity:

RN - NICU

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Every other weekend requirement
* 2 major holidays required
* Self-scheduling primarily utilized
* Patient ratios: NICU 1:1 through 1:3, PICU 1:1 or 1:2, Pediatric unit 1:4 or less
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
* Preferred certifications: PALS and STABLE
* Charting system: Cerner EMR
* Scrub color: Navy
* Work with ventilators including oscillators, Draeger, CPAP, and high flow nasal cannula
* Phillips telemetry monitoring in use - not required to read telemetry
* Respiratory therapy available 24/7
* Pharmacy available 24/7
* No IV team or nurse aides on unit
* Charge nurse present in NICU almost always; not always present in Pediatrics
* Float responsibilities include NICU to Nursery and Pediatrics; Mother Baby floating only if experience is present
* Common patient diagnoses include 23 weeks and above, cooling therapy (experience preferred), feeders/growers
* Must be comfortable with high frequency oscillators and ventilators
* Level 3 NICU experience required; no ECMO
* Standby/low census call required occasionally
* Unit orientation: NICU (2-3 shifts), Pediatrics (2 shifts)
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* Previous travel experience not required
* BSN not required
* First to float on weekends

This acute care facility operates a Level 3 NICU with 21 beds, a Pediatric unit with 8 beds, and a future-state PICU with 4 beds. The facility provides comprehensive neonatal and pediatric care supported by around-the-clock respiratory therapy and pharmacy services. The organization maintains a strong clinical environment with neonatologists on staff and advanced respiratory equipment to support high-acuity neonatal patients.
