Opportunity:

Surgical Technologist

Job Details:

* Work rotating shifts, 5 x 8-hour shifts per week
* Evening shift from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday through Friday
* No on-call responsibilities
* Minimum 2 years of recent experience in surgical technology required; 3+ years preferred
* Experience in Orthopedics, Neurology, and General Surgery required
* Epic electronic health records experience required
* Surgery Technician certification preferred
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
* Prepare surgical cases by creating and maintaining a sterile field
* Retract and pass instruments, supplies, and medications to surgeons during procedures
* Accurately check required supplies and equipment prior to each case
* Assemble appropriate supplies and equipment prior to operative procedures
* Set up operative instrumentation and sterile field for expedient retrieval and utilization
* Complete instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts with the Registered Nurse according to established standards
* Label solutions according to established standards
* Maintain neat and orderly sterile field with careful attention to aseptic technique
* Perform housekeeping duties and clean equipment and facilities as necessary
* Transport patients according to unit schedules and priorities

Facility:

This 162-bed acute care facility has been serving the Central California Coast community since 1959. The facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and serves as a county designated trauma center, offering a wide range of specialized surgical services including orthopedic, neurological, and general surgery procedures.
