Open Position: RN - Stepdown

Opportunity:

Stepdown/ Med Surg Overflow/ Neuro Exp/ Registered Nurse

Job Details:

* Night shift position
* 36 or 48 hours per week; schedule may change based on staffing needs
* Team nursing ratios of 1:12, split between 2 RNs, 2 LPNs, medication nurse, and charge nurse
* On-call required as needed
* Weekend rotation required as needed
* Block scheduling not available; weekend block may be considered
* Minimum 2 years of recent experience required; 3+ years preferred
* Travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
* Level I Trauma experience required
* Large hospital experience required
* Previous charge experience preferred
* EPIC charting system experience preferred
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
* Patient diagnoses include altered mental status, strokes, uncontrolled seizures, post craniotomy, Cardene/Cardizem drips, and lumbar drains
* Special procedures include EMU patient management
* Special equipment includes continuous EEG
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and more
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Required skills include but are not limited to: cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, craniotomy, CVA management, external ventricular drain (EVD), intracranial bleeds, lumbar drains, neuro stepdown, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, tracheostomy care/management, traumatic brain injury, wound care/wound vac, and more
* Must hold an active RN license in the state or a compact RN license compliant with NLC guidelines
* If assignment includes end-of-year holidays, traveler must be willing to work 2 of 3 holidays if all three fall within the assignment, or at least 1 of 2 if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment
* RNs may be floated between like units or campuses within a 20-mile radius

This is a short-term acute care facility and Level I Trauma Center offering a high-acuity clinical environment with comprehensive interdisciplinary support services. The facility operates a specialized stepdown and neuro unit equipped with advanced monitoring technology including continuous EEG, and maintains strict compliance and submission standards to ensure the highest level of patient care.
