Job Details:

* Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Every other weekend coverage required
* No on-call responsibilities
* Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
* Patient ratio of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* 12 orientation hours required
* Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
* If one major holiday falls during assignment, traveler is expected to work it; if two major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work both; if three major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work two
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI (preferred), NIHSS, PALS, TNCC (preferred), ENPC (preferred)
* Required skills: Care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation (preferred), interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, procedural sedation administration and monitoring (preferred), triage
* Telemetry competency exam required
* Experience with special equipment including Arctic Sun and Glucommander
* Care provided for patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
* Georgia or compact nursing license required

Facility:

This facility is a large emergency department with 59 beds and rooms, managing approximately 250 patient visits per day. The unit is a Level 3 trauma center in progress and serves as a primary stroke center, chest pain center, and specializes in CHF and STEMI care. The department is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team and modern medical equipment to ensure high-quality patient care across all age groups.
