Opportunity:
RN - Emergency Department
Job Details:
* Work in a 16-bed emergency department with 8 additional hall chairs located on the 1st floor
* Patient ratio of 1:4, with low acuity ESI 4 & 5 patients, may take up to 6 patients
* Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 1 triage nurse, 4-5 nurses (one mid-shift), 1 unit secretary, and 1-2 techs
* Night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 1 triage nurse, 4-5 nurses (one mid-shift), unit secretary until midnight, and 1 tech
* Mandatory shift huddle attendance at 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM unless providing critical care at time of huddle
* EMTALA training is mandatory
* Perform assessments, documentation, medication administration, wound care, splinting, IV placement, urine collection, lab draws, and care for ESI 5 through 1 patients
* Utilize equipment including cardiac monitors, Baxter IV pumps, HPs, Tonopen, and more
* EMR system: Meditech with vital signs flowing directly into chart
* Level II or Level III trauma experience required
* Required certifications: TNCC or ENPC or PALS, ACLS, BLS
* Preferred certifications: CEN, TCRN, CPI
* Greater than two years of emergency department experience preferred
* Dress code: Royal Blue scrubs preferred; Sunday seasonal team spirit jerseys encouraged
* Compassion, urgency, and teamwork are extremely important qualities for this role
