Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts with both day (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM) and night (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) shift availability
* Every other weekend and holiday required
* No self-scheduling; agency staff typically brought in as variable or straight nights
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, may stretch to 1:5 with sick call or added CNA support
* Charge RNs take 2 patients
* CNA support available with 1:10/12 ratio depending on census
* Telemonitor techs on unit who read strips using GE monitors
* Common patient diagnoses include cardiac, NSTEMI, post cath lab, AFib, CHF, GI bleed, detox, respiratory distress, and sepsis
* Required to titrate drips including nitro, diltiazem, insulin, heparin, and amiodarone
* Experience managing IV nitro, heparin, diltiazem, and amiodarone required
* Post cath lab experience beneficial; arterial line experience appreciated but not required
* RT equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and Optiflow
* Floating may be required to med/surg or IMC overflow in ICU
* Must wear navy blue scrubs
* Up to 3 days of unit-specific orientation provided
* Charting system: Cerner
* Standby/call requirement: Yes
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), EKG Course
* Must clock in and out at the facility
* BSN not required

This acute care facility operates a 30-bed Progressive Care Unit providing specialized treatment for complex cardiac and medical patients. The unit is equipped with advanced telemonitoring technology and respiratory therapy equipment to support high-acuity patient care. The facility maintains dedicated support staff including telemonitor technicians and nurse aides to ensure comprehensive patient care across all shifts.
