Job Details:

* Mixed unit position covering PCU, Med Surg/Tele, and Med Surg
* 12-hour shifts with variable scheduling
* Patient ratio of 1:4-5
* Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday for both night and day shifts - 12 weekend shifts per contract)
* Float required to other areas as needed including ICU, ER, and Behavioral Health, with assignments appropriate to experience and scope of practice
* No block scheduling available
* No on-call required
* Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted with greater than 3 years of experience
* Patients served include adults and geriatrics
* Patient diagnoses include Stroke, NSTEMI, Chest Pain, AKI, Pneumonia, COPD Exacerbation, CHF Exacerbation, Cellulitis, and AMS
* Intermediate Care Unit operating under Pilot Team Nursing Model (RN and LPN for 6 patients)
* Telemetry work setting with required interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
* Medication system: Pyxis
* Epic charting experience required
* Safe Patient Handling Equipment utilized
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Parking is free
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Michigan license in hand required - no pending licenses accepted
* Locals within 50-mile radius not accepted
* Time off requests exceeding 7 days require management approval

Facility:

This facility is a short-term acute care Level 1 Trauma Center with 25 staffed beds. The facility offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, transportation, and a unit secretary. The organization maintains high standards of patient care and utilizes Epic as its charting system throughout its network.
