Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
* Every other weekend requirement with 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
* First to float policy - may float to telemetry at a 1:4 ratio or between med/surg floors
* Patient ratio of 1 to 5
* 1 shift of floor-specific orientation provided upon start
* Work with medical patients and post-operative/surgical patient population on a 30-bed unit
* Nurse aides available: 2 on days and 1 on nights
* Clinical supervisor acts as charge nurse, provides break relief, and does not take a patient assignment
* Hospitalist available 24/7, respiratory therapy available 24/7, and pharmacy available 24/7
* No IV team on site
* No ventilator patients
* Portable telemetry boxes available if needed with monitor tech support - nurses must be able to read and interpret telemetry and will be required to pass a dysrhythmia exam
* Charting system: Cerner
* Scrub color: Navy
* Holidays worked into permanent staff rotation
* Must have 2-3 years of experience in med/surg specialty
* Prior travel experience required
* Must be a team player
* Required certifications: BLS
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks

This acute care facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center offering comprehensive medical and surgical services. The unit consists of 30 beds serving a medical and post-operative surgical patient population with robust support services including 24/7 hospitalist coverage, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy. The facility utilizes Cerner as its electronic medical records system and maintains a well-structured team environment with clinical supervisors and nurse aide support.
