Opportunity:

RN - 3rd Floor Surgical Care Unit (Med/Surg)

Job Details:

* Night shift position on a 28-bed 3rd floor Surgical Care Unit
* Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights
* Self-scheduling and block scheduling available
* Minimum of 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
* Holiday requirement applies
* Up to 4 shifts may be canceled per 13-week assignment; up to 3 shifts for assignments shorter than 13 weeks
* First to float, with potential to float within Zone 3 if extreme need arises
* Care for post-surgical patients with drains, chest tubes, and pain management needs
* Required to titrate drips including analgesics for pain, anticoagulants for blood clots, and antihypertensives for blood pressure control
* Telemetry monitoring provided by tele techs in central monitoring room
* Nurse aids available on the unit
* Respiratory therapy equipment includes nasal cannula up to 6L, CPAP, and BiPAP (night use only)
* Charting system: EPIC
* Navy blue scrubs required
* General med/surg experience required; experience with surgical population preferred
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA)
* BSN not required
* Valid state license required for submission
