Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
* Every other weekend requirement with 4 shifts out of a 4-week schedule; night weekend shifts are Friday/Saturday and day weekend shifts are Saturday/Sunday
* Travelers are first to float and may float between units including 2W MedSurg remote tele, MedSurg SW, ICU for tele MS hold, or ER holds
* Patient ratio of 1 to 4
* Must report within 30 minutes if placed on standby/call
* 1 to 2 shift orientation with preceptor
* Block scheduling allowed if unit needs are met, but not guaranteed
* Common patient diagnoses include post pacer, hemodialysis, new onset AFib, RVR, stepdown from ICU, surgical patients, urology patients, oncology patients with cardiac issues, strokes, TBI, sepsis, and high acuity patients
* Must be able to read and interpret all cardiac rhythms using Phillips telemetry equipment
* Works with Cpap and Bipap (per respiratory therapy)
* EMR system: Cerner
* Scrub color requirement: Navy blue; scrub jackets, undershirts must be navy, white, or black
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
* Expected to work into permanent staff holiday rotation (1 major holiday and 1 minor holiday)

This acute care facility operates a 31-bed telemetry unit with both private and semi-private rooms. The unit is supported by a shift manager and resource nurse, nurse aides on all shifts, a 24/7 respiratory therapy team, 24/7 pharmacy with Omnicell, and hospitalist or intensivist coverage with on-call support after hours. The facility maintains high standards of cardiac monitoring and patient care across a diverse and high-acuity patient population.
