Job Details:

* Night shift position located at a cardiac stepdown unit with a significant cardiac patient population
* Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
* 48 hours straight time
* Patient ratios of 1:4-5
* Weekend requirement: As needed, rotating
* Float requirement: Yes, travelers will be expected to float to like units within their scope as needed
* On call requirement: None
* Block scheduling: Case by case
* Scrub color: Any (no logo)
* Self-scheduling
* 2 years of experience preferred (will consider 1+ years)
* First time travelers accepted
* Cardiovascular experience required
* Charting system: Epic (required)
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; CPI preferred
* Treats adult and geriatric patient populations
* Patient diagnoses include CHF, STEMI/NSTEMI, and cardiovascular-related conditions
* Required skills include cardiac telemetry, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care/management, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, cardiac drip management, titration of cardiac drips, post cardiac angiogram care, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, sheath removal, PICC line management, wound care/wound vac, and more
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams

This facility is a specialized heart hospital functioning as a cardiac stepdown unit with a dedicated focus on cardiovascular patient care. The 55-bed unit provides advanced cardiac services and supports a wide range of cardiovascular diagnoses and procedures. The facility offers robust interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and more to ensure comprehensive patient care.
