Opportunity:

RN - ICU/Step-Down

Job Details:

* 3 twelve-hour shifts per week (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM), no blocked shifts
* Every other weekend requirement
* Travelers typically do not work holidays, depending on schedule and permanent staff availability
* Patient ratio of 1:2
* High acuity step-down and low acuity ICU unit with 6 private beds
* Care for higher acuity ICU patients including those with sepsis, COPD, DKA, overdose, renal issues, surgical cases, respiratory issues, patients on vents, and titratable drips
* Must be proficient with vents and titratable drips
* Expected to float to Tele-MedSurg unit as needed
* 1 shift of floor orientation will be provided
* Charting system: TruBridge - Evident (CPSI-Evident)
* Scrub color: Royal Blue
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* BSN not required
* Must be able to manually measure ECG intervals rather than relying on monitor-generated measurements
* Must be confident in measuring PR intervals, QRS duration, identifying heart blocks, and identifying atrial arrhythmias
* ECG competency assessment requires manual interval measurement and rhythm interpretation
* Cancellation policy: 1 week of guaranteed hours may be cancelled over a 13-week period

This acute care facility operates a specialized high acuity step-down and low acuity ICU unit with 6 private beds, designed to manage complex patient populations requiring intensive monitoring and care. The unit is equipped to handle a wide range of critical diagnoses and provides a collaborative environment supported by telemetry and medical-surgical services. The facility maintains adequate PPE supplies and is committed to providing a safe and well-equipped environment for both staff and patients.
