RN - Labor & Delivery

Job Details:

* Day and night shifts available: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Schedule cycle runs Sunday through Saturday
* Every other weekend rotation required
* One holiday may be required
* On-call only applies if scheduled shift is called off due to low census
* Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP, EFM; Surgical Scrub requires BLS and CST
* Required skills: IUPC, FSE, IV starts, and circulating C-sections
* Care for high risk and low risk ante-partum and intra-partum pregnant women, immediate postpartum patients, stabilization of normal newborns, and couplet care
* Patient ratios: 1:1 for high risk patients, typically 1:2 otherwise; follows AWHONN guidelines
* Unit consists of 12 beds, 3 ORs, and 2 OB ER rooms
* EMR system: EPIC
* IV pumps: Baxter; Medication dispensing: Pyxis
* Fetal monitoring systems: GE/Centricity and Phillips EFM/tele
* May float to postpartum and NICU (for level 2 newborns)
* Orientation typically consists of 2 to 3 shifts depending on competency and comfort
* Scrubs: Dark blue, provided by the hospital
* Free parking available in designated areas

This is a 388-bed hospital and Level 3 Trauma Center offering comprehensive care across a wide range of specialties. The labor and delivery unit is well-supported with 24/7 charge nurse and receptionist/HUC coverage, hospitalist services, respiratory therapy with NICU support, and centralized telemetry monitoring. The facility maintains a fully equipped environment with modern technology to support high-quality patient care.
