RN - Labor and Delivery

Job Details:

* 13-week contract assignment
* Block scheduling type
* Every other weekend (EOW) required
* 39 weekend shifts per contract
* Patient ratio of 1:2 on days, nights, and weekends
* 36 orientation hours
* One pre-approved time off request honored
* Float to post-partum required
* Occasional on-call if census drops
* Minimum 3 years of experience required in LDRP or Mother/Baby
* First-time travelers accepted
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Trauma Level I experience preferred
* Must be able to scrub and circulate for C-sections
* Must be comfortable with conscious sedation, fetal heart monitoring (FHM), and obstetrical triage
* Must be able to recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
* Must be able to use external fetal monitoring
* Patient age groups include infants and adults
* 12-bed unit
* Charting system: GE Centricity
* Medication system: Pyxis
* Communication system: SBAR
* Scrubs provided
* Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Radiology, Phlebotomy, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Interpretation Services, and Transportation
* Workers should expect to work some holidays
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NRP, FHM

This facility is a well-established hospital offering comprehensive maternal and women's health services, including Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, and post-partum care. The unit consists of 12 beds and is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams. The facility maintains high standards of patient care and operates in accordance with Joint Commission standards.
