Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts with variable start times depending on shift type
* Day shifts may start between 7:00 AM and 1:00 PM
* Mid/Evening shifts may start between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM
* Night shifts may start between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM
* Weekend rotation required, every other weekend when possible but not guaranteed
* Will be assigned a primary off-campus emergency department location with expectation to float to other sites as needed
* Patient ratio of 1:4; fast track ratio of 1:6 with team nurse support
* Care for a wide range of patient types including neonates through geriatrics, with approximately 25% pediatric population
* Manage ventilator and BiPAP for intubated patients (no respiratory therapists on-site; training provided during onboarding)
* Mix own medications under pharmacy supervision via video conference (no on-site pharmacy)
* Required to perform charge nurse duties (facility will train if needed)
* Strong IV skills, knowledge of medication administration, chest tubes, and central lines required
* Minimum 2 years of true ER experience required; CAP position requires minimum 5 years
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, Advanced NRP, NIHSS, TNCC
* Traveler Telemetry Competency must be completed and passed prior to start
* Charting system: EPIC; Equipment: Alaris, Pyxis
* Orientation includes hospital orientation, full day with unit educator, 8-hour respiratory class, and full day on the unit

Each location features 10 emergency department beds with additional hall spaces to accommodate high patient volumes. The facilities handle a broad acuity range including walk-in traumas, cardiac, neurological, gastrointestinal, respiratory, and psychiatric cases, supported by LPN staff, charge nurses, and EST/phlebotomy teams.
