Open Position: RN - Med Surg Oncology Stepdown

Opportunity:

RN - PCU Oncology

Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts available on days (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM) and nights (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
* Every other weekend required
* Self-scheduling available but will be balanced to the needs of the unit
* Work on a PCU Oncology unit (5 North) with 18 beds serving adult oncology PCU and trauma PCU patients
* Patient ratios: 1:4-1:5 on both days and nights
* Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Oncology experience preferred; strong PCU experience without oncology experience may be considered
* Charge nurse experience not required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA)
* ONS/ONCC certification preferred but not required
* Chemotherapy certification preferred but not required
* Charting system: Epic
* IV Pumps: Alaris
* Commonly manage drips including chemotherapy, heparin, Cardizem, and Protonix
* Occasionally titrate insulin and Cardizem drips
* Comfortable working with high-flow respiratory equipment required
* Travelers float to other Med/Surg and PCU units at the same level of care
* Two days of unit orientation provided
* Hourly rounding and bedside shift report are key patient experience focuses
* Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
* Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
* BSN not required
