Job Details:

* 4x12 or 3x12 day shift schedule
* Shifts include weekdays and weekends with 3 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period
* 13-week contract with possible extension
* 34-bed medical/surgical unit with telemetry
* Patient ratios of 1:5-7 for days, nights, and weekends
* Daily census of approximately 30 patients
* Adult patient population
* Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
* Travel experience not required
* Charting system: Cerner
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS
* WV or Compact License required; pending license accepted for submission
* Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (candidates between 75-100 miles considered on a case-by-case basis)
* Minimum 2 Manager and/or Charge Nurse references from the past 2 years required
* Facility tolerance of 2-3 call-offs per contract
* Skills required include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care/management, CVA care, feeding tube care and management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, telemetry, PICC line management, wound care/wound vac, tracheostomy care/management, PCA, phlebotomy, and starting and maintaining IVs
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams

Facility:

This facility operates a dynamic 34-bed medical/surgical unit dedicated to providing exceptional care for patients with a wide range of acute medical conditions. The unit employs an experienced and collaborative team of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, clinical assistants, unit clerks, and patient care technicians who work together to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. An acuity tool is utilized to optimize patient assignments and ensure appropriate staffing levels, with clinical nurse coordinators providing leadership on every shift through daily huddles, patient flow management, and regular patient rounding.
