NICU RN
Job Details:
* Level III NICU position with approximately 190 births per month
* Weekend schedule every other weekend, may exceed to meet unit needs
* No on-call required
* Patient ratios up to 1:3, staffed by acuity
* 14-bed NICU unit
* 36 orientation hours
* May float to Mother/Baby unit for babies; if couplet care experience, may float fully
* 2 years of experience required with at least 1 year in NICU specialty
* Level III NICU experience required - hard stop
* Travel experience required
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP Advanced (will allow NRP if willing to obtain advanced before start)
* Charting system: Epic (experience required)
* Scrub color: Navy Blue (RNs)
* Free parking available
* Community hospital experience required
* Facility guaranteed hours: facility allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
* All RTO must be submitted at time of submission; approval based on facility needs
* Required skills include but are not limited to: central line care, arterial line management, bubble CPAP, high frequency ventilation, therapeutic hypothermia, UAC/UVC management, PICC line management, neonatal dosage calculations, ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), and administration of IV vasopressors including Dopamine, Dobutamine, Fentanyl, and Versed
* Special procedures include: central lines, ROP exams, spinal taps, and intubations (no surgeries performed at this facility)
* Special equipment includes: CPAP, BIPAP, smart pumps, feeding pumps, isolettes, warmers, high frequency vents, and oscillators
* Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and interpretation services
Facility:
This acute care hospital features a 212-staffed-bed facility with a Level III NICU serving a large and diverse patient population. The facility holds a CCS designation and serves a large Hispanic community. The NICU unit specializes in caring for neonates and infants with diagnoses including prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, neonatal abstinence syndrome, sepsis, hypoglycemia, and jaundice. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support services to ensure high-quality patient care.
