Opportunity:

Anesthesia Tech - Surgery Department

Job Details:

* Work 4x10 hour shifts per week
* Sunday shifts required with set schedule
* Holiday shifts required unless approved time off requested in advance
* Call shifts offered but not required with a 30-minute response time
* Support 38 operating rooms including 17 Main OR, 4 CVOR, 3 CCL, 3 L&D, 2 Endo, EP lab suites, and various MRI, CT, Ultrasound, X-Ray, and Nuclear Medicine rooms
* Staff ratio of 8 employees across 38 rooms
* Perform cleaning of anesthesia machines, setting up circuits, and conducting anesthesia machine checks
* Manage inventory for anesthesia machines, Omnicells, and supply cabinets, including restocking and relocating items as needed
* Assist CRNAs with art line setup (IV starts are not required)
* Respond to codes including OB Stat, Anesthesia Stat, Trauma, and Stroke Alerts
* Work with GE anesthesia machines and Mindray equipment
* Opportunity for overtime given 24/7 OR staffing needs
* Float within department with rare potential to float to nearby OR locations
* Scrubs and locker provided; travelers may wear their own caps but must bring their own OR shoes
* 3-shift department-specific orientation provided
* Charting system: EPIC
* Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Pediatric experience preferred
* Experience with GE anesthesia machines and Mindray preferred
* Required certifications: BLS, Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cer.A.T.) or Certified Anesthesia Technologist (Cer.A.T.T.) via ASATT
* Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

This acute care facility operates a large and comprehensive surgical services department supporting 38 operating rooms across multiple specialty areas. The facility maintains anesthesiologists and CRNAs in-house 24/7 and features a pediatric trauma program, with main and CVOR suites capable of handling urgent cases. The department is led by a supportive team including a tech supervisor and director of surgical services, and is known for its welcoming environment and strong support structure for traveling staff.
