Opportunity:

RN - Perinatal Float Pool

Job Details:

* Perinatal Float Pool position requiring cross-training and rotation among all three perinatal units: JMC L&D, JMC Postpartum, and Hillcrest LDRP
* Floating each shift is mandatory, including between campuses and to Postpartum
* Must have a minimum of 2 years of combined L&D and Postpartum experience with demonstrated competency in both areas - this is a hard requirement
* Must be available to work one additional overtime shift per 2 weeks (7 shifts total) based on unit needs
* Manager will provide a minimum of 2 weeks notice for schedule changes
* No RTO in the first 3 weeks
* Weekend coverage required: 4 shifts every 4 weeks or every other weekend based on unit needs
* May be placed on call
* Self-scheduling
* 48 orientation hours
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Travel experience required
* Active California state license required upon submission
* 2 manager references required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate; Advanced NRP is a hard stop requirement; AWHONN Advanced and BSN preferred
* Care for patient age groups including neonates, adolescents, and adults
* Manage high-risk OB patients including pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, high-risk cardiac patients, high-risk postpartum, multiple gestation, drug-exposed newborns, and late preterm infants
* Perform and assist with procedures including C-sections (circulate and recover including general anesthesia), labor and delivery, neonatal resuscitation, magnesium sulfate therapy, insulin drips, Bakri Balloon management, and external/internal fetal monitoring
* Provide postpartum care, breastfeeding and lactation support, newborn assessments, and couplet care
* Facility follows Baby Friendly protocols
* Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, Interpretation Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Unit Secretary

The facility includes private L&D rooms, OR suites, recovery rooms, birth center rooms with natural childbirth and doula support, antepartum beds, triage rooms, postpartum rooms, a newborn nursery, and LDRP rooms.
