Opportunity:
RN - Medical Surgical / Remote Telemetry
Job Details:
* Work in a Medical Surgical / Remote Telemetry unit treating adult and geriatric patients
* Patient diagnoses include diabetes, med/surg, post-op, wound vacs, and bariatrics
* Patient ratio of 1:5-6 with 33 beds and an average daily census of 28
* Every other weekend shift required
* Float required within facility and scope of practice as needed
* Call requirements include every other weekend and holidays as needed, with relief charge responsibilities
* Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
* If one or two major holidays fall during assignment, no holiday RTO can be requested; if three holidays fall during assignment, one holiday RTO may be considered
* Expected to work major holidays that fall within assignment period
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Required charting systems: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR
* Required certification: BLS
* Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Georgia or Compact nursing license required at time of submission
* Required skills include blood product administration, chest tube management, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube care, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, telemetry remote monitoring, wound care/wound vac, PICC line management, phlebotomy, PCA, peripheral line care, surgical drains, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Special equipment includes Diligent lift equipment, Spectralink phones, Rovers, and Space Labs in every room
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and unit secretaries
* 24 orientation hours required

This facility is a community hospital offering comprehensive medical surgical and remote telemetry services to adult and geriatric patient populations. The unit is supported by a full interdisciplinary team including charge nurses on each shift, a nurse manager office on the unit, case managers, social workers, a clinical nurse educator, and a patient experience representative available five days per week. The facility is equipped with modern technology and resources to support high-quality patient care.
