2S Med Rehab RN

Job Details:

* 3x12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* 36 or 48 guaranteed hours per week - discuss preference with manager
* Weekday shifts with every other weekend required
* No on-call requirement
* Float required within scope to Med Surg to meet facility needs
* Patient ratios: Days 1:4/5, Nights 1:5/6
* 24-bed unit specializing in cerebrovascular disease, traumatic brain injury, amputees, spinal cord injuries, deconditioning, and neurological diseases
* Each patient has an assigned care team including a physiatrist, NP, nurse, therapists, and social worker who collaborate to create a patient care plan
* Therapy works with patients 3 hours per day Monday through Friday with an average length of stay of approximately 2 weeks
* Patient age groups: Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics
* Patients treated for SCI, TBI, Stroke, Amputation, Neuromuscular Diagnoses, and Severe Deconditioning related to cardiac or respiratory events
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Unit Secretary
* Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; 1 year of in-specialty experience required
* Charge experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted
* Required certifications: BLS (must be AHA); acute care rehab certification preferred
* Cerner charting system experience required
* WV or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted for submission
* Candidates must have a permanent address 100 miles from the facility; candidates between 75-100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis
* Block schedule requests considered - discuss during interview
* No RTO restrictions; must include requests on application and discuss during interview
* Scrub color: Royal Blue/White or combination
* Parking garage is free for travelers
* Orientation held every other Thursday

This facility is a short-term acute care hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center, as well as a major teaching hospital and member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH). With 855 total staffed beds, this facility provides comprehensive care across a wide range of specialties and is supported by robust interdisciplinary teams. The medical rehabilitation unit operates with a collaborative, team-based approach to patient care, ensuring each patient receives individualized treatment and support throughout their recovery.
