Job Details:
* Evening shift hours are 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM with varied days
* Night shift hours are 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM on a 7 on 7 off rotation
* Schedule alternates between four 10-hour shifts one week and three 10-hour shifts the following week, with the week ending on Saturday and beginning on Sunday
* Minimum two years of recent Medical Laboratory Technologist experience in a hospital setting required
* Associate's Degree in medical laboratory technology required; Bachelor's Degree in medical technology preferred
* Current certification from American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or Medical Technologist American Medical Technologists (MT-AMT) certification or equivalent required in Oregon
* Current BLS certification required
* Works in two or more laboratory sections including processing, phlebotomy, and microbiology setups depending on laboratory needs
* Prepares sterile media in plates, jars, or test tubes for bacterial cultures and incubates cultures at prescribed temperatures
* Prepares solutions, reagents, and stains following standard laboratory formulas and procedures
* Performs specimen processing, test performance, and test result reporting with high accuracy and timeliness
* Examines and interprets test results across multiple disciplines including blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, serology, toxicology, and urinalysis
* Maintains detailed records of tests performed and reports results to appropriate personnel
* Monitors Quality Control shifts and trends and takes appropriate corrective action when necessary
* Follows critical value policy by notifying appropriate personnel and physicians in a timely manner with required documentation including read back of results
* Works under the supervision of a Laboratory Supervisor or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) in supervisor's absence
