Open Position: Phlebotomist - Phlebotomist / Laboratory

Opportunity:

Lab - Phlebotomist

Job Details:

* Night shift position with 10-hour shifts starting at 8:30 PM (2030)
* Flexible scheduling available with option to work five 8-hour shifts from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM (2200-0630)
* EPIC experience required
* Minimum two years of recent experience in the field required
* Current BLS certification required
* Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT I or CPT II) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) license preferred
* Perform venipunctures and finger sticks to obtain blood specimens
* Verify specimen identification and appropriateness of sample type and volume for indicated testing
* Process samples using aseptic technique and prepare required paperwork for testing and reference lab testing
* Communicate with patients to obtain information for laboratory records and explain procedures
* Coordinate with other departments, staff, physicians, and their offices to facilitate lab work flow and quality
* Monitor and maintain equipment as needed per regulations
* Follow established guidelines for missed collections, recollects, and difficult phlebotomies
* Assist in ordering supplies and managing inventory including expiration dates and stock rotation
* Run quality controls daily as needed in coordination with Lead Phlebotomist
* Perform proficiency testing per regulatory agency procedures
* Participate in departmental performance improvement and quality assurance activities
