RN - Cardiac Telemetry

Job Details:

* Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
* Travel experience required
* Prior experience managing continuous IV medications required - must confirm experience upon submission
* Required cardiac drip experience: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, Nitroglycerin
* Required diuretic experience: Bumex, Lasix
* Required anticoagulant experience: Aggrastat, Argatroban, Heparin
* Insulin drip experience required
* Patient population: Adults to Geriatrics
* Patient ratio: 1:5-6 with a 32-bed unit
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
* Required skills include: cardiac telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, central line care/management, blood product administration, heparin protocols, pre/post cardiac cath, TR Band, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, titration of insulin drips, PICC line management, peripheral line care, phlebotomy, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Overflow IMCU experience; arrhythmia management; cardioversion; experience with cardiac CHF, chest pain, renal, pulmonary (COPD, pulmonary edema), PE, DVT, stable A-Fib, SVT, bradycardia, surgical cases (cholecystectomy, appendectomies, chest tubes, biliary drains), post cardiac cath, DKA, and occasional vascular, ortho, or CVA patient overflow
* Basic arrhythmia knowledge, hemodynamic monitoring, and care of patients post-PCI required
* Special equipment: High Flow and BiPAP managed by Respiratory Therapy available 24/7
* Telemetry competency exam required
* Unit systems: Epic (preferred), Pyxis, SBAR
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Scheduling: Typically every other weekend; permanent staff are scheduled first and travelers fill in the gaps
* Floating: Yes, within the facility and scope of practice as needed
* Call requirements: Call is rare with a 2-hour response time; travelers typically do not manage Precedex
* Holiday coverage: Expected to work major holidays that fall within assignment period
* Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Georgia or Compact nursing license required at time of submission
* Interdisciplinary support available including Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Transportation
