Opportunity:
RN - MS-Tele Float
Job Details:
* Day shift position working 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
* 6-9 weekend shifts required in a 6-week schedule
* May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
* Rare on-call or standby requirement for low census situations
* Must float within Zone 3 (based around Denver City Center) which includes facilities up to 40 miles from Denver City Center
* Schedules are released 4-6 weeks in advance and follow one of two formats: scheduled at a single facility for the week with possible float within that facility, or Just-In-Time (JIT) where facility is assigned 1-2 hours before shift start via call
* Must live at least 60 miles from each facility within the zone and obtain housing that makes floating throughout the full 60-mile zone feasible
* Float pool covers multiple units including General MS-Tele, Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Obs
* May be asked to float into other acuity levels including ICU (low acuity holds), PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele
* Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6 based on acuity
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Renal, Urology post-surgical, General Surgery, Gynecology, Psych/Detox, ENT, and General Medicine
* Required to titrate Heparin drips
* RT equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP used on unit
* Nurse aids available on unit
* Designated charge nurse on each unit who does not typically take a patient assignment
* 1-2 days of orientation with a preceptor
* All time off requests must be submitted prior to starting assignment
* Cannot miss more than 3 shifts in a 13-week contract
* Charting system: EPIC
* Scrub color: Any color
* Minimum 2 years of MS-Tele experience required; prior neuro experience preferred
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
