RN - L&D (Break Relief)

Job Details:

* Shifts available: Days 7:00 AM 7:30 PM and Nights 7:00 PM 7:30 AM
* Weekend rotation every other weekend, but may be variable based on need
* Schedule made in 6-week increments and released 2 weeks prior to start; block schedule cannot be guaranteed
* No mandatory on-call requirements
* Holiday rotation applies on a fair and equitable basis
* Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required; 5+ years preferred; previous travel experience considered with 2 years
* High acuity experience required including labor management and delivery of high-risk OB patients
* Must be able to triage OB patients, circulate in OR, perform cervical checks, and read/interpret fetal monitoring strips
* Expected to serve as a second set of hands to receive and recover normal newborns as needed
* Patient types include hypertension, magnesium administration, C-sections, preterm labor, vaginal deliveries, epidurals, inductions, antepartum, PROM, multiple births, and postpartum hemorrhage
* Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines: 1:1 active labor, 1:2 non-active laboring, 1:2-3 antepartum dependent on acuity
* Facility supports up to 300 deliveries per month
* May float to antepartum (within L&D) or postpartum (4th floor) occasionally, within scope and experience
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP, Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (AWHONN)
* EPIC EMR experience required
* Equipment includes Alaris CareFusion IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Centricity/Qx fetal surveillance monitors, CAD Solaris epidural pumps, Panda Warmers, and Covidien SCDs
* Scrubs provided by the facility and must not be worn outside of the facility
* Free parking available in designated badge-access areas

Facility:

This facility operates a robust Labor and Delivery unit with 34 beds, including 15 labor rooms, 12 antepartum beds, 4 OB ED rooms, and 3 operating rooms, along with an 18-bed postpartum unit. The unit is supported around the clock by a laborist, respiratory therapy, charge nurses, scrub techs, CNAs, phlebotomy, and anesthesia services. The facility emphasizes high-quality, high-acuity obstetric care and follows AWHONN guidelines for patient ratios, providing a well-resourced environment for labor and delivery nurses.
